If you are buying one used forklift and have no strong reason to prefer another make, Toyota is usually the right default. It holds its resale value well. That cuts both ways. You pay more up front for a used Toyota than for a comparable Hyster or Komatsu. You also get more back when you sell it. Toyota trucks often run past 10,000 hours in good health, so a high meter is not automatically a problem. Before we judge a truck by its hours, we check mast chain stretch, deck and mast wear, and service history.

A Toyota spec'd for a modern distribution center may have a three-stage mast. That mast may not clear an older brick warehouse in the city. We measure your clear height before quoting, not after delivery.

3 How many hours is too many on a used Toyota forklift?
No single hour count is too many on a used Toyota, and hours alone are a poor guide. Toyota trucks often run well past 10,000 hours when they are maintained and worked on decent floors. Where the truck worked matters more. A 5,000-hour truck from a dirty site on a broken slab can be worse than a 10,000-hour one from a clean distribution building. We judge on mast chain stretch, mast and deck wear, and service history.
